Here in the DC area we're battling the brutal cold. We're no good at ice and snow and 6 degree weather is no picnic either. We're also gearing up for the Inauguration this weekend. Most of the schools in the area are off Monday and Tuesday, and my school also had a half day on Friday. I will be relaxing and cleaning and finishing up my grades to be turned in on Wednesday.
Between this wicked weather and inauguration mania, I feel like a prisoner in my own home. My husband and I plan to stay warm as bugs inside on Tuesday, but getting anywhere seems like it is going to be a mess. That is why I am going to be cooking, cleaning and organizing all weekend. We do have some places that we can walk to around our place, but all of my favorite shops are out of reach for the weekend. I just don't think I have the patience to deal with all of the crazy drivers. I find as I get older, instead of getting used to the DC traffic I try everything that I can to avoid it.
Tonight for dinner I am making one of our new favorites: Curry chicken with Jasmine rice. It's quite simple to make and very filling. It's one of my few favorites that I don't cook in my crockpot. I am still trying to figure out this whole "how to get people to read your blog" business, so if you find me, keep on reading and commenting and I'll keep on posting.
